“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." -Dr. Seuss
A big congrats to my sister Rachel who graduated from Santa Clara University over the weekend! Your big brother is very proud of your academic achievements and know you'lle go far.
We kicked off the fam-filled weekend at Left Bank, a Parisian-style brasserie located in San Jose's vibrant Santana Row. Rachel has a soft spot for anything French seeing how she's fluent and has lived and traveled there. A table full of cheese fondue, fresh sweet corn soup and skirt steak couldn't make our stuffed bellies any happier, just don't ask for mashed potatoes. They will not serve them no matter how much you ask. We woke up Saturday morning to participate in a Santa Clara graduation tradition, a 6am pre-ceremony beer crawl at two local dive bars, which resulted in me sleeping through most of the three hour long ceremony. We then spent the rest of the afternoon at tented outdoor picnic the university put on for its graduates and their guests at $40 a ticket. Not bad considering we chowed down on barbecue and pasta salad, had access to 10+ open bars, live music and dancing (which I opted out of) and a sunburn i'm not hating. But I have to say the highlight of the day was playing flip cup with my parents.
